The IT Honor Roll’s new historical technology quotation database is now addition to the IT Honor Roll, searchable historical archival database, and calendar of historical IT conference and events.
“The IT Historical Society is pleased to be adding more historical resources for use individuals and educators to use to further understand the important history of the information industry”, said Jeffery D. Stein, Chairman of the Board.
The membership presently includes more than 300 historians and archivists, as well as institutions such as the Center for Technology Innovation, Charles Babbage Institute, Computer History Museum, IEEE History Center, Mid-Atlantic Retro Computing Hobbyists, U.K. National Archive for the History of Computing, ACM History Committee, Agilent, Applied Materials, Caltech, Computer Conservation Society, Deutsches Museum, Hewlett Packard, IBM, INPUT, INTEL, The Internet Archive, Microsoft, the Smithsonian Institution, and Symantec. Membership in the Society is complimentary due to the generous donations from the computer industry.
The IT History Society assists in the collaboration of like-minded institutions and individuals to expand the reach of historical and archival activities while at the same time communicating to the private sector the value of preserving their history and heritage for generations to come.
