Tougher Auto Safety Standards Likely to Affect Consumers that are looking for a Car Insurance Quote
Chicago, IL (Vocus) August 30, 2009 -–
The government and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety are going to make it more difficult for vehicles to earn top recognition on their safety tests. Since auto insurers base their rates on risk, a consumer searching for a cheap car insurance quote may find it more difficult to obtain. CarInsuranceQuote.net gives the latest details and offers a way to find cheap car insurance.
The Insurance Institute is a safety-research arm of the insurance industry and has a rating system of “good,” “acceptable,” and “marginal” for vehicle safety. It says that it will not grand its “top safety pick” to any vehicle that does not receive a “good” rating on its new test of roof strength.
Another safety rating agency, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, is also preparing more rigorous crash testing systems for 2011 models. The NHTSA’s new system will have tougher standards on side-impact damage.
As such, fewer vehicles are likely to be awarded the five-star ratings in the NHTSA’s one-to-five-star score system. In addition, fewer vehicles are going to get the Insurance Institute’s top safety pick award.
People enjoy cheaper car insurance due to their high safety rated vehicles. With the stricter tests in place, it may be more difficult for drivers to find cheap car insurance quotes. When in the market for a new vehicle, consumers can contact their insurance agent to discuss safety ratings and insurance premiums to get accurate car insurance quotes before purchasing a new vehicle.

Great post! I?m just starting out in community management/marketing media and trying to learn how to do it well – resources like this article are incredibly helpful. As our company is based in the US, it?s all a bit new to us. The example above is something that I worry about as well, how to show your own genuine enthusiasm and share the fact that your product is useful in that case
